Procedures for traveling to the UAE In general, a
holder of a UAE residence visa coming to the country through Dubai airports
does not need prior approval from the General Directorate of Residency and
Foreigners Affairs - Dubai (GDRFA) or from the Federal Authority for Identity,
Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security ( PIC) to enter the country. However,
as an exception, UAE residence visa holders coming from the following countries
must obtain prior approval before preparing to travel to Dubai, and these
countries are:
- Bangladesh.
- India.
- Pakistan.
- Sri Lanka.

Also, passengers coming from one of the countries
mentioned above are not required to obtain prior approval from the authorities
in charge of issuing visas in the country if one of the following conditions
applies to them:
- Those who hold another type of visa, such as a newly issued residence visa.
- Work visa, short-term or long-term residence visa.
- UAE Golden Visa holders for 10 years.
- Investor or partner visa.
- Visitor visa or immediate entry visa.
Procedures for traveling to the UAE
For travelers from the above-mentioned countries:
Submit a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued
within 48 hours of collecting samples from one of the laboratories listed in
the Dubai Recommended Laboratories Document.
Submit a negative result for the Rapid PCR test at the
airport before departure, and 6 hours before take off.
Requirements for all travelers coming to Dubai
Travelers to Dubai from all countries, including the
Gulf Cooperation Council countries, are required to present a negative nasal
swab test (RT-PCR) certificate that is performed at most 72 hours prior to
departure.
Rules for traveling or transiting to Dubai from the UK
All passengers traveling to Dubai from the UK or
transiting through Dubai from the UK are required to present a negative
COVID-19 nasal swab screening certificate that was done no more than 48 hours
prior to departure, and the certificate must be for a reverse
transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT) test. ‑PCR). Please note that NHS COVID test certificates are
not accepted for travel from the UK.

Categories exempt from laboratory testing for COVID-19 (PCR)
UAE nationals (UAE nationals are exempted from taking
a COVID-19 test when traveling from abroad to Dubai. However, they will be
given a corona test (nose swab) upon arrival in Dubai, regardless of whether
they hold a valid negative screening certificate from the country of departure)

- Passengers accompanying first-class relatives of UAE nationals
- Domestic workers accompanying an Emirati sponsor during travel.
- Children under 12 years old
- Passengers with moderate or severe impairment.
