Conditions for study visa in America

The US government offers three different types of student visas:

  • F student visa: used to study at an accredited US college or university or to study English at an English language institute.
  • J exchange visa: To participate in an exchange program, including high school and university studies.
  • M student visa: for non-academic study, non-academic training, or professional training in the United States of America.

 

Procedures for traveling to America

You will need the following documents for your visaapplication:

  1. A passport valid for at least six months after the end of your period of stay in the United States of America (unless exempted from this in accordance with the agreements specific to each country).
  2. Acceptance into a SEVP-accredited school and your I-20 form
  3. Pay the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Application Fee
  4. Nonimmigrant visa application and Form DS-160 confirmation page.
  5. One or two photos in the required format.

 

Documents required to travel to America

Additional documents may also be required, such as:

  • Your academic documents such as degree certificate, diploma, bachelor's degree or other certificates
  • Evidence that you have enough credit to cover your living expenses for the duration of your stay in the United States, which may include a presentation, bank statement, a financial pledge by the sponsor to cover housing and living costs, or a scholarship program
  • Proof that you will leave the United States upon completion of your studies. This could be in the form of a flight ticket from the United States to your country.
