Share your screen wirelessly on an HDTV Show your
phone screen on an HDTV with a wireless display. Play a slide show or play
games, watch movies, browse the web, and use your apps; Whatever you do on your
phone is on your HDTV.
To get started, you need a Miracast™ compatible HDTV
or a Miracast wireless display adapter to connect to your HDTV (available from
electronics retailers). After an easy setup, your devices communicate directly
and don't require a shared Wi‑Fi router connection.

Share your screen wirelessly on an HDTV
Do one of the following:
- To pair with a wireless display adapter, install the adapter on the HDTV according to the manufacturer's instructions. And you will see a pairing or connection screen on the HDTV.
- To pair with an HDTV compatible with Miracast, turn it on and set it up to pair with a device according to the manufacturer's instructions. You will see a pairing or connection screen on the HDTV.
- On the phone, go to Settings > Display > Wireless Display.
- Drag the Wireless Display On switch to On. Your phone searches for display devices.
- In the list of displays, touch the name of the wireless adapter you want.
- Your phone will start connecting to the wireless display. If you are prompted to enter a PIN, enter your PIN, which may appear on your HDTV.
Turn the phone wireless display on or off
- The devices connect and your phone screen appears on the HDTV. When you turn on the wireless display, you see in the status bar.
- To immediately connect to the last display used the next time you turn on a wireless display, on the phone's Wireless Display screen, select Auto Connect.
- Turn wireless display on or off
- Swipe the status bar down quickly with two fingers.
- Touch an icon to quickly turn Wireless Display on or off, or to connect to a device. If you select Auto Connect, your device will automatically connect to the last used display.
- Or, add a wireless display widget to any home screen.
How to wirelessly share your screen to a TV
- Stay 3-20 feet from the adapter or compatible display, and in the same room if possible. If you encounter problems, come closer.
- Keep away from microwave ovens or cordless phones to avoid interference.
- Turn off Bluetooth during a wireless display session.
- If the edges of your home screen appear cut off on an HDTV, adjust the display settings for your HDTV. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- When streaming data over Wi‑Fi, stay within 15 feet of the main access point.
- Set the main access point to 5GHz.
