You must have a full vaccination to travel to the US by plane, and this applies to all travelers - US citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs), and foreign nationals, only limited exceptions apply.

You must show a negative COVID-19 test result or document recovery from COVID-19 when you travel to the United States by air. The timing of this test depends on your vaccination status and age.

All air travelers age 2 or older traveling to the United States, regardless of vaccination or antibody status, are required to submit a negative COVID-19 viral test result or document recovery unless exempted.

A mask must be worn over your nose and mouth on the interior of public transportation (including aircraft) while traveling to, within or outside the United States and indoors at United States transportation hubs (including airports).

Have you been fully vaccinated to fly to the United States?

Name and date of birth match to confirm that the passenger is the same person as reflected in the proof of vaccination.

Specify that the record is from an official source (eg, a public health agency, a government agency) in the country in which the vaccine was administered.

Review basic information to determine if the passenger meets the CDC definition of complete vaccination such as the vaccine product, number of vaccine doses received, date(s) of administration, and location (eg, vaccination clinic, health care facility) of vaccination.

Airlines must refuse to board passengers who do not meet these requirements or those who test positive for COVID-19.

Considered to have been fully vaccinated according to the CDC:

2 weeks (14 days) after a vaccine dose (1 dose is acceptable in America)

2 weeks (14 days) after your second dose of a two-dose series (from a vaccine accepted in America)

2 weeks (14 days) after receiving the full series of an acceptable COVID-19 vaccine (not a placebo) in a clinical trial

2 weeks (14 days) after you receive the full series of Novavax (or Covavax)

COVID-19 (not placebo) in phase 3 clinical trial
